Catholic Social Teaching

Catholic Social Teaching pack for children

Catholic Social Teaching is an integral part of our curriculum, and we continually seek ways to identify and incorporate references and examples of CST throughout our curriculum.  We ensure it is a central part of our curriculum as we know the significant role CST plays in shaping our pupils. It helps them to better understand poverty, social issues, and their role in an ever-changing society. As CST is rooted in the teachings of the Church, we use it to guide our pupils so they can understand and respond to social issues with compassion, solidarity, and justice. We use CST to educate our pupils on human rights and the importance of us all advocating for those in our society who need us.

Class Mascots

Each class will deliver one assembly a term, with the focus of their assembly being their CST principle. This is a perfect opportunity for the children to teach one another about the principle and relate it to scenarios both in and outside of school to help them understand the importance of the principle. The assemblies are a perfect way for pupils to showcase their understanding of how we can apply CST to our school and local communities and on a global scale.
